What happens when art evolves through dialogue? Interlogue seeks to answer this question by engaging an anonymous conversation between a photographer and a writer. Not knowing each others identity, they converse through an exchange of text and images, each piece interpreting and feeding off the previous, ultimately creating art that is unaffected by prejudice. Each edition of Interlogue explores a new set of conversations.
Pseudo is a collection of interviews with Scandinavian designers, on the topic of concepts and rhetoric in today’s design scene. Revolving around themes such as 'what differentiates an idea and a concept' and the consequence of talking to much in abstract terms. Loose discussions shining a light on the current discourse of what we designers sell today, what's our primary point of delivery – and where are we as an industry headed?
Anthropos is an artistic elaboration on the topic of human impact on geology and eco-systems. Javier Barrios' artist book project is based on the proposed new geological epoch known as the Anthropocene. The book incorporates fragments of human development, and becomes a standing question to whether all progress is positive. Conceptual narratives were applied throughout the book to add a dimension to the storytelling and vision of Javier Barrios. We decided early on to play with the friction that occurs when man meets machine. Using Riso-print and heavily textured and tactile pulp for the book lay ground for an imperfect finish, making every copy unique determined by the machine. Further on we used Japanese chapter heads generated from Google translate, analog GIFs, and an old SMTP screen card as foundation for the grid.
